Electrical Work Across Tualatin

ATR Electric is a licensed electrical contractor covering Tualatin, which had barely three hundred people before the interstate arrived in 1966 and is now mostly housing built between the seventies and the nineties. Panels of that vintage are usually the limit on what gets added next.

Seventies Stock

  • Services sized for then
  • Panels short on space
  • Load checked before adding

What Gets Added

  • Charger and heat pump runs
  • Remodel and kitchen circuits
  • Subpanels for a garage

Tualatin issues its own structural, mechanical and plumbing permits, but contracts electrical permitting and plan review to Washington County. The city keeps its other trades, so a job here can involve two counters, and knowing that up front keeps the schedule honest.

“Anthony had a better idea. The other Electrician came out and gave a bid for $14,000. I thought that was a little high and decided to get another opinion. Anthony had ideas that the other guys never even thought of.”

“Anthony contacted me about the work. He checked in prior to coming, came on time and gave me a clear quote about the work with some variation so I’m aware. He was able to add a separate circuit to our microwave so it doesn’t share with other lights and switch.”

Common Questions

Before You Book a Tualatin Electrician

Which cities does ATR Electric serve around Portland?

Every city on the map above, which covers Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties in Oregon plus Clark County in Washington. Each one has its own page with the permit rules that apply there. If your city is not marked, call and ask rather than assuming the answer is no.

Do I need a permit for electrical work in Oregon?

On any work that requires one, yes, and ATR Electric pulls it rather than leaving it to you. New circuits, service changes and panel work generally require a permit. Unpermitted electrical tends to surface later during a sale or an insurance claim, and it has to be opened back up for an inspector anyway.

Who inspects electrical work, the city or the county?

It depends on the address rather than the postal town. Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard and Lake Oswego all issue and inspect their own. Much of Clackamas County goes to the county instead, and every unincorporated pocket does. The page for your city names the office that covers it.

Can an Oregon electrician work in Vancouver, Washington?

Only with a Washington license, which is a separate registration from the Oregon CCB. ATR Electric holds both, so work in Vancouver and Clark County is done under Washington code rather than Oregon rules. Both numbers are on the contact page.

How much does an electrician cost in the Portland area?

Estimates on planned work are free, and you approve a written scope and a number before anything starts. Tracking down a fault is quoted separately, because finding it is the work rather than a step before it. Labor covers time on the job, not time spent collecting materials.
